Danny suggests ‘well-handled’ is achieved by these 5 A’s:
- Awareness (that you made a mistake)
- Acknowledge (take responsibility)
- Apologize (communicate)
- Amend (take action)
- Apply (additional generosity / go beyond the call)
And this doesn’t only apply in the restaurant business, does it? As transformational leaders we can always use our mistakes to learn from and to teach others. That’s what transforms mistakes into growth and even innovation.
